What is a good camera to buy and use if I will pursue Photography? Good quality and practical for a beginner.?

I would like to pursue photography as a hobby and I am looking for a digital camera suitable for this purpose. I like a not very expensive one since I am not yet professional, something that has very good output and results, good quality and parts, affordable and practical to use for a beginner like me. =)

  1. One of my first cameras was a Nikon SLR N55 (film). It is on the pricey side but is a quality first camera and good if you wish to continue the art. You can get them used for much cheaper and even ebay. For digital you could try a D50-D200 camera. I strongly recommend Nikon though I know some who like Canon as well.
  2. Go for a big lens, as this will give u better pics
  3. As a beginner, you need something with a reasonable price. For that you want to buy an older model. I know the Minolta brand has anti-shake feature which helps beginner with long zoom shorts and macro shots. If price is a concern, you should go to cnet to look at the review. You can select the cameras in your price range and then compare the features of each camera. I suggest you buy one with some manual settings or semi-auto setting such as aperture priority and shutter priortiy. An exposure lock is also nice to have. Last thing is the focus system. A multiple zone focusing system is better. When everything is equal, go with one with a larger size lens. Larger lens give you a larger aperture, which make your lens faster. http://reviews.cnet.com/Digital_cameras/2001-6501_7-0.html?tag=glnav
  4. 2 Great cameras you could start out with (one or the other) would either be a Nikon d50 with the 50mm 1.8 lens or the Canon Digital Rebel XT. Personally I prefer Nikon.
  5. Okay the D50 Nikon digital is a great camera, 600 buck or less. D70s is better. point and shoot quality the Canon S70 or the sony cybershot 70 is awesome the small one are junk.
