Whats the best camera for a beginner looking to start photography?
Hey guys Im looking to start photography soon and looking for a Camera for about £120 that is fairly good at taking pictures in low light. i was looking at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fuji-FinePix-S5700-Digital-Camera/dp/B000PH5IWI/ref=sr_1_9/203-1387475-1267128?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1193957681&sr=1-9 However very confused about brands and diffrent types of cameras. - Nikon is a really good brand and its easy to use. You just can't screw it up. I highly recommend Nikon, maybe a D50 or D40. Good luck. Have fun!
- Cool pix from nikon
- My cousin is really into photography and she really recommends the Nikon D40. She said it is the best entry-level digital SLR out there.
- im looking to start photography as well. i have my heart set on <http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-10-1MP-18-55mm-3-5-5-6/dp/B000I1ZWRC/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1_s9_rk/103-3201114-8911068?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&s9r=8afea4c1124c4ff80112a19b4b000d01&itemPosition=1&qid=1193958826&sr=1-1> but was also looking at this <http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Digital-18-55mm-3-5-5-6G-Zoom-Nikkor/dp/B000NOEDGK/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-3201114-8911068?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1193958934&sr=1-1> but a great starter, easy to use with auto AND manual controls is <http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Digital-18-55mm-3-5-5-6G-Zoom-Nikkor/dp/B000KJQ1DG/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-3201114-8911068?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1193958940&sr=1-1> you can also check out nikon.com/picturetown if you want to research more on the d40.
- Canon ELAN IIe, 35mm SLR. It's a newer, but not brand new camera that is very sturdy and easy to learn. You can find one on ebay for less than $100. Canon makes very good film cameras. If you're serious about becoming a photographer, learn on film. Point and shoot digital cameras are cute, but not comprehensive enough to give a strong foundation on which you can build real skill as a photographer. Anyone can use a digital camera and rattle off a hunderd frames to get the one they want, but you will choose your compositions more carefully and pay greater attention to the exposure when you only have 36 exposures and have to wait until they are developed to see whether you got them right. You'll learn a lot, and you can make professional images until you can afford a DSLR, which can all be quite expensive. Just a suggestion...
- Pentax K100D is a good cheap SLR to start with. Pentax cameras (non-digital) were traditionally prefered for student photographers. If you want to learn photography in film-mode there'll be plenty available in used market for really cheap price. For low light photography you need a tripod and long exposure. Most D-SLRs have this option.
- Pentax K1000 is great.
- Try to look on EBAY for some Fuji Fine Pix S7000. You will be in approximately the same price range and have a more recent camera. I use this as a back-up camera and it performs very acceptably even though it is not an SLR.
- I know its not an SLR camera but the Panasonic FZ18 is a great camera for amateurs to semi professional. It has an amazing zoom lens on it . 28mm to 504mm All the photography web sites rate it very highly. Around $400.00 cheers Gary T
- Nikon D40 or D80, Canon Rebel XTi...those are the two I've heard most about.
- yeah fuji is great..im going to get fuji finepix s5600 soon...
