Should I sell my photos on a stock photography website?
I've been intested in photography in a long time but for the first time I've started to consider maybe selling my work. Are stockphotography sites really worth it? Some only give you as little as 20% royalty on your photographs. Do you think I could make more selling them on my own? I need some ideas, and an average on how much I could make through a stockphoto. website vs. individually selling them. thanks!

- I recently joined RedBubble and like you mentioned they only give you a percentage of the overall price someone pays for your work on RedBubble you choose the mark up price ie what you recieve. Using a company like RedBubble is useful if you don't want to spend time and effort printing and mailing the work yourself. It would be useful to use a site like RedBubble untill you get started and are selling work on a regular basis.
- If you are marketing your work to magazines, advertising or doing weddings ect selling images to stock photo agency's is just another outlet for your work it is not something that will make you a living on its own. try http://www.alamy.com or http://www.cfwimages.com/ or others with a better deal or Someone that suits the work you do good luck
