Photography questions for a beginner!?
I am interested in photography, what is a good camera to start with if i am just beginning in the photography field. What are some good books or sites i can visit to educate myself in this field? I eventually would like to start a free lance photography business and photograph weddings, portraits and such. Any ideas, thoughts, or comments are welcome! Thanks!

- for a starter camera the Nikon d40 or the d40x is the best. I have the d40x and i love it. the only diffrence between the two is that the X version is a 10.2 mp with a ISO of 100 and the other is a 6 mp with a iso of 200... good luck :D
- What you need is a digital slr. I would look at the Canon Rebel xti or Nikon D40. These are both good cameras with a lot of features. You can shoot fully automatic or manual which will let you learn what you can do with it. Pick up books that will teach you about exposure, composition, lighting ect. I would also check if there are any clubs or courses offered in your area. Most important though is to go out and shoot as much as possible. Good Luck
- canons are my favorite cameras. i really like big cameras for some reason. i started with a small digital camera and it was good but i just recently got this one:http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8297513&st=canon&lp=18&type=product&cp=1&id=1172881524725 i like it alot the pictures are turn out great too!
- If you're serious about photography then get a DSLR... most photography schools require that you have a DSLR! We use the Canon Rebel XTi at the Art Institute. It's a great camera for a beginner and the price has dropped a lot recently. I suggest you take a photo class rather than trying to learn it on your own... there are so many things to learn and it can be very overwhelming. You can often find classes in community colleges, rec centers, photo studios, and camera stores. Good luck!
- Oaky, if you're serious, save your money and get an entry level dSLR camera. Costs about $700. But if you can't afford that, get a compact digital camera (costs $200) that allows you to control: 1- Apperture size 2- Shutter speed 3- ASA/ISO These features allow you to explore your creativity..
