  1. if your really good put an album together and do wedding photos or parties, you make really good money that way.
  2. Well, there are two avenues you could take. One would be to offer to take portrait photos of children, pets, families, or even do photography for weddings and special events, etc. You could put an ad in your neighborhood newsletter or local newspaper to start. But if you want to sell photographs you've already taken, more like art photography, you could volunteer to exhibit your work at local bookstores, restaurants, or cafes. You could also check for cooperative galleries in your area - these are galleries in which all the artists help out by taking turns sitting in the gallery while it's open, mounting exhibits, etc. Usually new members are chosen by existing members by a sample of their work. There are also some shops that sell local arts and crafts that might sell some of your work if it is framed or made marketable, as in notecards. You would need to check around your area for these shops & galleries. Good luck!
  3. Sadly, there is simply not the demand for pictures there used to be. You could try and get some of your pictures posted on a picture library. It also depends on what type of photography. There is still money to be made in papparazzi work but also very difficult and highly competitive. Probably the best way to make money from photography nowadays is photographing events. If you're in the UK, why not check out www.photomart.co.uk to see when is their next seminar on Events Photography.
  4. Your public library, reference section, Photographers Market. Published annually, it lists publications that buy photographs from freelancers. You will need to have a portfolio all ready. 25-50 images on a CD that you can send them. Send a variety, scenery and people - especially head shots.
