i want to get into photography but i dont know where to start. i want to get a camra but i dont want to spend over a thousand dollars on it until i get the hang of everything. any tips?

2. There is no 'right' place to start - just start! Just about any camera will do to begin with, as soon as you outgrow it you will have a better idea of what you need. The only way to learn is practice, so the more photos you take the faster you will learn. Classes at a community college etc. could help get some basic pointers but there is an awful lot of inspiration on the net. One great site is www.photo.net , you can view photos of great photographers and see what they do with composition and subjects. Another link to basic composition is below. The technical stuff is only half of it, a good photo has something that makes people stop and look. But the first person to satisfy is yourself - take photos that instinctively satisfy you. Good luck!
