How can I start freelance photography?

I am into art photography and have not worked with a photographer before. I wanna know what I have to do to set up, and start getting noticed or who I have to work with. I have an A level in photography and a really good digital slr and editing software. Don't know what else I need. I think my pics are good, but I could always need ways of getting better ideas

What I mean is to take candid shots of friends or comment to them that you would like to do a photo shoot of them because of their hair, skin, eyes, etc.. Rarely has this failed. People love to be flattered. Give them copies. Your payoff will come when they recommend others to see you. Again...if your work is good, it will speak for itself.
