- Firstly, think what kind of picture you wish to take. For example, children are playing a beach ball. Secondly, go to the neighborhood library and ask the librarian for the photography book (children section). Thirdly, join the photography club where it teaches you how to use a digital camera. Save up some pocket money and wait until you have learnt how to take care of it.
- Take a look at the free tutorials on this website - it kicks off from the beginning (how to choose your equipment for your own needs) and moves forward from there. http://www.image-nut.com With that information you can then consider what kind of camera you want to kick off with - and do some research based on a realistic budget. There is plenty of second hand kit around and digital prices are plummeting while the quality is always improving.
- I am in 4-h and I took the photography project and you get a little work book to help you also, Photography for Dummies is a good one[I love it]. As for the camera...well those happen to be very expensive for a good one. My Grandmother gave me hers...I wouldn't waste time buying a 'beginner' camera. Get one that will grow with you. Mine is professional and I love it, I just don't use the extra things it has that I don't need now and as I progress I will learn more about those but, I haven't even started developing my own film yet!
