What is the best type of camera to use for proper photography?
I am looking to start photography classes and i was just wondering what type of camera is used by professional photographers? and what is the best to start off with. Thanks

- Most professionals will use an SLR (single lens reflex) camera for most of their work. Many will often use medium format or large format cameras. It really depends on what is required. Sports photographers and photojournalists will almost always use an SLR mostly digital these days. As to what type of camera you should have for classes I would start off with an entry level digital SLR from either Canon or Nikon. The Canon Rebels and Nikon d40 or d60 are great choices. You may want to check with the person teaching the class before purchasing anything though. Many classes still require a 35mm film camera. If they require film a used 35mm Canon or Nikon would be good. This way when and if you switch to digital you can use all the lenses. You can find many on Craigslist or Ebay for about $100 with a lens.
- if you are a beginer photographer its best to get a fuji film camera when i started this is what i used and they are great cameras and they have took me to great hights. after that i moved on top a kodak but that was my choice. but the best type is a SLR (single lens reflex) as long as you get one of them you should be ok
- Digital SLRs is a good type camera to use for proper photography, suggestion brand Canon (Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12.2 MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens) Or Nikon (Nikon D40, Nikon D90).
