How Do I Start My Own Photography Business?

I was been into photography for about 2 or 3 years now and i a Nikon D50 and a Nikon F100. I was wanting to start a business in photography. i have shot senior pictures for friends and things like that, but never for money. i dont have a back drop or any good lights. i was wondering what would be the best way to spread the word about it and pricing and anything else i should know. i was planning on specializing in pet photography. but also take portraits and what not.
