- nikon d60 if you seriously want to be a photog. But my nikon coolpix s60 works well for me, and I'm the same age as you
- It depends if you're looking for a beginner professional camera (such as an SLR) With these, you can build on it - getting more lenses/flashes as you progress - but they can be expensive Key cameras to look out for are (in no particular order - as it really is up to you what is best for you) Sony A200 or A350 Canon 450D Nikon D40 / D60 Panasonic G1 Other option is to go for an advanced compact camera - these have higer specs as a standard compact camera - bigger zooms, stronger flashed. But you can't change the lenses - they can be much cheaper than SLRs but if you're wanting to build, you'd need to buy a new camera cameras to look at would be the fujifilm range, the best being the f1000d but also look at the f800d Then you have the compact range - good for starting out but will take basic photographs and have basic setting options. If you're interest though, look at Panasonic or Canon cameras Particularly good ones would be canon ixus 80 Canon ixus 85 canon ixus 90 Panasonic FS3 Panasonic FS5 Panasonic TZ5
- Last year i bought my first professional camera after years of using regular, cheap digital cameras. If you are serious about finding a good camera, i suggest investing in the Nikon D40. I'm not sure how much they are now, but i bought one for less than $700 one year ago, so i would imagine the price went down. It is very simple to use, you can use it and focus with it like any other easy camera but you also have the option of learning about all of its features and using them. I highly recommend it for any beginner, especially ones serious in their future as a photographer. Good luck :)
- Well in this day and age I think digital is really the way to go, just because most places have stopped developing film and unless you have access to a darkroom it can be somewhat of an inconvenience to develop film these days. If your looking to really get into photography you will want a digital SLR which will allow you full control over aperture, ISO and shutter speed. Heres a list of good beginner cameras: 1) Canon XSi/XTi 2) Canon XS 3) Nikon D60 4) Nikon D40 5) Canon G10 6) Nikon P80 7) Canon SD950 IS or SD880 IS The reason I put the Canon DSLR's before the Nikons is because the Nikon D40 and D60 do not have a built in auto focus motor which means that some third party lenses especially in the wide angle department will not autofocus if they do not have their own motor, many of which do not. If you decide to buy a camera 1-4 look into the 18-200mm IS lens for Canon and VR lens for Nikon. This is decent optical quality lens, with an incredibly user friendly range, suitable for anything from landscapes to some sports. For either brand you may also want to look into the 50mm f/1.8 lens which is only around $90 but is really great for low light shooting and portraits because of the f/1.8 aperture. Both lenses will autofocus with the Nikon cameras. Cameras 5 and 6 are point and shoots, but they do have fully manual controls and the Canon at least can shoot RAW files. The last two cameras are just nice point and shoots that will take great pictures, but do not have manual controls. Good luck!
- Now do you want a simple camera that will give you what you need FOR NOW? Or something that you can keep and use for a while. If you want a good camera...the Nikon D40 is aexcellentnt camera. Now if you want something better, go with a d80 or d90 (the d90 has video...but there not that great). Now if you are serious do some hard work and save up for a D300, D700 or D3. (all nikons) These camera make it easy to make the pictures look REALLY good. And if you cant afford them...you can purchase some manual focus lenses for them off ebay or craigslistand just buy the body only. Saves you a lot of money. Now if you dont have a spare 400-5000 dollars just sitting around (im sure you have at least a nice chunk of change, but nowhere near that much. I dont konw...maybe you do. I know I dont) try getting a nice Point and shoot or a Superzoom(not sure if thats the correct name. THese a SLR type camera with a permanatly attached lens. They handle similarly to an SLR) and then save for an SLR.
- Nikon D40 is excellent camera for beginner.Nice out of the camera result picture quality.Affordable price.Compact size and light weight. Great battery life.
